and from Noon to 10:00pm at LeTulle Park on Saturday, November 2nd.

The festival will incorporate all the traditional and cultural activities of the Day of the Dead into as much family-friendly fun as can be packed into a two-day event. Attendees can expect to see plenty of food and merchandise vendors, including all their favorite food trucks. The festival will include a Kids' Zone with hands-on activities like games, crafts, rides and inflatables.

Attendees are encouraged to embrace the tradition of face painting. Not only will the festival have booths where you can have your face painted but we will also have a costume procession for those who do.

The Day of the Dead, or Día De Los Muertos, originated in Mexico and is a 2-day celebration where it is believed that the path between the real world and the spirit world is open so our deceased loved ones can come back to visit us.  It is not a Mexican version of Halloween, It is a celebration filled with bright colors, food and music.

The loved one's favorite foods and drinks are placed on the Ofrenda and everyone sings and dances until the path closes for another year.

The Bay City Día De Los Muertos Festival is an annual event first hosted in 2018. The Festival not only promotes tourism and awareness for our city, but it also holds a cultural and traditional significance for the hispanic community.

Historically this celebration may have originated in Mexico but we've adopted and adapted it as our own, and no matter where your roots may lie, there will be plenty of food, culture, traditions, games, sights, fun and music for everyone, from any community.

Bay City Day of the Dead Festival revenue is used towards promoting & supporting Events and Activities that bring Art, Entertainment, Recognition & Tourism Dollars to Bay City & Matagorda County.
